How fees work
What a surgery costs depends on your plan, the procedure and what the exam finds. Here is how we handle each part, and what we put in writing.
Insurance we work with
Oral surgery is billed to your dental plan, your medical plan or both. Which one applies depends on the procedure and on your plan, so we check both before the day.
Dental PPO plans: we file the claim for you
Medical plans: some surgery is billed here, and we ask
Medicaid and CHIP: call us and we will answer plainly
Medicare: ask us what your plan covers
If you pay yourself
Without insurance, you get a written estimate for the whole plan before treatment, split into the parts that happen on different days. Financing is offered by third-party lenders. Approval and terms are set by the lender.
Receipts for reimbursement
If you pay us and your plan pays you back, we give you an itemized statement to send in. Your plan decides what it pays.
An estimate in advance
We give a written estimate in advance to anyone paying without insurance, and to anyone who asks. It lists each step, the visits it takes and what each step costs.
Ask when you book, or at your consultation
In writing, before treatment starts
Checking your benefits
Before your visit, Candice Strand checks your dental and medical benefits and tells you what each plan says it covers. A plan's estimate is the plan's, so we show you both.
What the first visit includes
A consultation takes about 45 minutes: a talk about your history, an exam, a 3D scan when your plan needs one, and a written plan. Bring your insurance cards, a photo ID and a list of your medicines.

Questions about paying
How do I get a written estimate?
Ask when you book or at your consultation. After your exam, we list each step, the visits it takes and what each step costs, and Candice goes through your benefits with you.
What if my plan pays less than the estimate?
A plan's estimate is the plan's, not ours. If its final payment differs, we explain the difference before you pay and go over your options.
Do you offer financing?
Financing is offered by third-party lenders. Approval and terms are set by the lender. Ask the front desk for the lender's own terms before you decide.
